small、smallest、less、smaller vs smaller
1. smaller：形容词 small 的比较级（如 a smaller house 更小的房子；smaller than 比…… 小），学生易犯错误：① 误用 more small（small 是单音节词，比较级直接加 -er，不可说 more small）；② 修饰不可数名词（smaller 仅修饰可数名词，不可数名词用 less，如 less water 更少的水，不可说 smaller water）；
2. 与 smallest（最高级，“最小的”，如 the smallest room 最小的房间）区别：比较范围不同（两者比较用 smaller，三者及以上比较用 smallest）；
3. 常见搭配：“smaller and smaller” 表示 “越来越小”（如 the box got smaller and smaller 盒子变得越来越小），不可说 “more and more small”。
