catalog、catalogue、list
1.catalogue（名词 / 动词，英式）： - 名词：“目录；目录册；系列”（如 “book catalogue” 图书目录、“catalogue of products” 产品目录、“catalogue of errors” 一系列错误”）； - 动词：“将… 编入目录；列举”（如 “catalogue the books” 给书籍编目”）；
2. catalog（美式拼写）：与 catalogue 语义一致；
3. list（名词 / 动词）：“列表；清单；列出”（如 “shopping list” 购物清单”），比 catalogue 更口语，catalogue 侧重 “系统分类的目录”。
词语辨析
catalogue,list,roll,table
这几个词都有“表”“单”“册”的意思。其区别在于:
catalogue是按字母顺序或其他方法排列的；
而list则仅指列表，有时不必有严格的顺序；
roll指人的花名册，尤指属于团体或军事单位的全体人员名册；
table指便于迅速查阅的目录、表格。
例如This is the list of the people who are going to the picnic.这是打算参加野炊的人员名单。

catalogue,enroll,list,record,register
这两个词都有“记录”的意思。其区别在于:
1.record指对事件或情况的记载；register指正式的或官方的登记或注册。

By law we are required to keep a register of births and deaths.法律要求我们对出生和死亡进行登记。
2.record还有“履历”的意思，而register则没有此义。
